About The Author:

Led by a series of dreams and encouraged by friends, Lynn Hardy began the journey to become an author. She stored her work in a computer file labeled “second job.” Writing began as a passion she could not contain and has become much more than she ever expected.

In the Fall of 2010, Prophecy of the Flame – Book One, reached #1 on Amazon kindle, shortly after Book Two in the series released. In the spring of 2011, Lynn released the Full Cast unabridged audio book of Book One. Now both fans and newcomers can hear the book come to life as every character jumps of the page with their own unique voice.

The road has been longer and more complicated than she would have ever guessed –not always smooth, but filled with wonderful surprises. Like most stories, Lynn is sure that her journey has only just begun.

My Thoughts:
Kyle is married to Rebecca and he’s given her an interesting gift for their anniversary. It’s not something I would ever think of but it shows how thoughtful he is. He comes up with something that his wife would like to do. From there, Lynn has her characters going to an alternate universe.

I’m a reader of all things romance but I don’t feel that is a major part of this story. The fantasy and science fiction are more prevalent. But I actually think that this is a good thing. I’m a speed reader but I found that this was a book that I wanted to take my time to read. I haven’t felt like that about a book in a long while. It holds your attention from beginning to end. I loved seeing how strong of a character Rebecca is. It’s not all about the male taking care of the “little woman”.

I found it interesting that as I read about Rebecca and her group, I could relate this story to some of the things that I’ve seen in the news lately – some people are very good about hiding their true nature until it’s too late to get them any type of help. Lynn also has illustrations within the book which you don’t see too often. The only disappointment I had was that my Kindle is black and white – I would have loved to have seen the illustrations in color.

Lynn has me wondering if her story will ever be our reality in the future. And will I ever see that in my lifetime. You will have to read her book in order to find out what a great imagination she has. It must have taken a lot of time and hard work to develop. It will also have you looking forward to reading book two. I look forward to seeing what else Lynn has in store for her readers.

Please make sure to read this complete book. That includes the Author’s Note.

This story starts in London in the year 1735.

Children can be so cruel to each other. The children are picking teams but they don’t want to pick Leila. And we know just how Leila feels. She rushes to see her mother, Hermione. Even as a young child, Leila’s mother warns her about marrying an Ives.

The story then jumps to the year 1752.

Leila is in the ballroom and has decided that she wants an Ives. He possesses something that she wants. Dunstan’s wife was murdered over a year before. Leila has also been married before. Dunstan wants nothing to do with a Malcolm.

Dunstan is supposed to be the best agronomist in all of England and Leila wants him. She’s trying to discover her purpose and needs his help for that. I find it interesting how Leila feels what constitutes belonging to a family. I also love how Patricia uses the idea of mistaken identity. It shows how blind some men can be.

As I read this book, I’m so in love with how Patricia makes me feel – it’s like I’m watching a Jane Austen movie. I can picture her characters fitting in perfectly with Jane’s. I wonder who Patricia would cast to play Leila and Dunstan.

Leila has a nephew named Viscount Staines. I can almost picture him with a mustache and him twirling the ends just like a villain would. Staines feels that Dunstan can help him achieve his goal. You will have to read this book in order to find out if that occurred.

Ninian comes to visit and gives Leila the shock of her life. If you are interested in reading Ninian’s story and you haven’t read it yet, the title is “Merely Magic”. Her husband is Drogo. It just so happens he’s Dunstan’s brother. “Merely Magic” was reprinted in March of last year. I haven’t read book one yet but am looking forward to catching up on the series. It will be interesting to see if Sourcebook Casablanca will reprint the rest of the series. If you like Regency or Historical romances, you will love this one.
