Alexandra, “Alex”, Brannigan is twenty seven and already worried about wrinkles. As she’s examining her almost wrinkles, the power goes out and someone calls to her. The scene then jumps into her “nightmare”. It’s one that she’s had in the past.

Alex’s job is running a place called Dovescot which is a refuge for battered women. She’s only 5’ 2” and weighs 100 pounds. She may be petite but in a fight, you would want her on your side. She certainly knows how to take care of herself.

Her tormentor has black wings and alabaster white skin. Alisha paints a very sexy picture – be still my heart. His name is Kasdeya and what makes him different from Alex is that he’s not human. There is also another character that she will eventually meet and his name is Shaitan.

Kasdeya doesn’t waste any time showing Alex who’s in charge. But then she takes him by surprise. They also have an interesting connection. They are the perfect match – he being the typical bad boy and her the typical good girl.

Alisha’s scenes are so descriptive that you almost feel that you’re a voyeur. But I don’t think either of them would mind being on display. They seem to be playing a game of cat and mouse. It leaves me wondering who’s going to win.

Just like great sex, Alisha doesn’t rush her scenes between Kasdeya and Alex. Alisha also does role reversals with her characters. This book would put any adult movie to shame. In the description it states that it has explicit language but I found it not to be as explicit as some.

Alex gets very creative in a spanking scene with Kasdeya. They act more like a normal couple instead of a demon and a human summoner. They are very physical lovers. Alisha gives her fallen angel feelings which you wouldn’t think was possible – especially without some fallout from above.

This story also makes you question as to what lengths you would go to for the one you love above all else. Alisha also has you jealous of how her lovebirds are together. We also get to know some of the lesser characters. There is Alex’s co-worker Ruth, Kasdeya’s ex-friend Uriel, and Shaitan’s concubine Shi-Liu.

Toward the end of the story, Alisha has a scene that we see twice. Once is through Alex’s eyes and the other is through Kasdeya’s eyes. This makes the scene interesting. At the very end of the book, she’ll have you laughing. And once you get there you’ll see what I mean. Please make sure that you don’t miss the “About Alisha Steele” found at the end of the story. You will find out that Alisha explains a little bit about the writing of this story. “The Summoner” is a must read.
